Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2026 | Fully Funded Master’s for Developing Commonwealth Countries

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships (CDLS) are prestigious fully funded awards offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom. These scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals from eligible developing Commonwealth countries to pursue part-time Master’s degree programmes with UK universities while remaining in their home countries. Unlike traditional scholarships that require relocating abroad, this scheme focuses on distance learning, making high-quality international education more accessible without the need to move to the UK.

Overview

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) and administered by the CSC. They are designed to support postgraduate study that directly contributes to sustainable development and positive impact in the scholar’s home country.

These awards allow learners to gain internationally recognised qualifications from UK universities while remaining in their resident country—an ideal opportunity for professionals, change-makers, and future leaders who might otherwise be unable to access UK postgraduate education.

Scholarship Coverage

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships provide significant academic support:
