Akkant BPO is currently hiring a Junior Accountant to support bookkeeping, reconciliations, and monthly accounting processes for small business clients. You will work closely with senior accountants and reviewers to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reconciliations, and ensure client accounts remain organised and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Posting and properly classifying financial transactions using Zoho Books and Microsoft Excel

  • Preparing monthly bank reconciliations and supporting schedules

  • Maintaining organised and audit-ready accounting records

  • Assisting with VAT, WHT, and PAYE schedules where required

  • Identifying discrepancies, missing documentation, or unusual transactions

  • Updating accounting trackers and supporting month-end close activities

  • Implementing feedback from senior accountants to improve accuracy and efficiency

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

  • NYSC members or recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of Zoho Books is an advantage)

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Ability to work with deadlines, especially during month-end reporting

  • Willingness to learn and improve through feedback

  • Must be resident in Abuja
