About the AU Youth Volunteer Corps
The African Union Youth Volunteer Corps is a continental youth leadership programme that recruits, trains, and deploys young African professionals from all 55 AU Member States to serve as volunteers in different countries across Africa.

Who Can Apply
The programme is open to young Africans who are passionate about development and willing to contribute their skills in a multicultural environment.
- Applicants must be citizens of an African Union Member State, either living on the continent or in the diaspora.
- They must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and must not exceed 35 years by the end of the 12-month service period.
- Candidates are required to have at least a post-secondary qualification, which may include a TVET certificate, bachelor’s degree, or higher qualification.
- In addition, applicants must be available to commit to a full 12-month volunteer assignment during the 2026/2027 cycle and must be willing to live and work in another African country.
- Proficiency in at least one African Union working language is required. These include English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and Kiswahili.
Applicants must also demonstrate at least one year of volunteering experience and one year of professional work experience.

- Successful candidates are expected to possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with email and internet applications.

- Candidates must complete their personal information and upload all required documents, including a professional CV (not more than three pages), a valid ID or passport bio page, and a copy of their highest academic qualification.
