📌 Mentor4Scholars Advisory: What Applicants Should Know
The Alex Otti Foundation (AOF) Scholarship 2025/2026 is a merit-based undergraduate scholarship designed to support brilliant but financially disadvantaged students who are from or currently residing in Abia State. The program aims to reduce the financial burden of tertiary education while nurturing future leaders who will contribute positively to their communities.
The scholarship is targeted mainly at students in government-owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria who are progressing into their second year (200 level) and have demonstrated strong academic performance during their first year. A minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or equivalent) is typically required to qualify.
One unique aspect of the AOF Scholarship is the essay component, where applicants must submit structured essays explaining their family background, community involvement, and ideas for societal development. These essays allow the selection committee to assess not only academic ability but also leadership potential, social awareness, and commitment to community impact.
At Mentor4Scholars, we often emphasize that this scholarship is highly selective. Beyond strong grades, the foundation looks for students who demonstrate integrity, originality in their essays, and genuine financial need. In fact, plagiarism or copying content—including heavy use of AI—can lead to immediate disqualification.
Applicants who present clear academic records, authentic essays, and verifiable residency documents typically have stronger chances during the screening stages.
